On-line applications invited for two positions:
1) for a one-year Contract Academic Staff appointment beginning August 1, 2014 in Sound Recording in the Department of Music Research at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Seeking an audio producer/engineer with international industry experience at the highest level – a specialist in audio systems engineering, software design, studio practices and production who is able to teach advanced multichannel audio production and recording techniques for multimedia (video). In addition to maintaining a high level of research and professional activities, the position will entail training and supervision of M.Mus. and Doctoral students in the technical and practical aspects of music recording, electronic and electroacoustic measurements, and advanced technical ear training, as well as undergraduate teaching in video production. Expertise in live performance video production, DVD authoring, archiving and asset management is also required. Qualifications: Doctorate or equivalent professional experience is expected (20+ years). 2) for a 3-year appointment beginning August 1, 2014 for a tenure track position in Trumpet at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Performance. Duties: Studio performance instruction, as well as teaching and advising at the graduate and undergraduate levels, chamber music coaching, general coordination of brass area activities and participation in committees and development of curriculum offerings at all levels. Continuation of an active performing / research career is assumed. Qualifications: Doctorate or equivalent professional experience with a significant international network of research associates and a broad range of repertoire interests and knowledge. Proven track record of teaching trumpet and brass ensembles at the university level. Organizational experience and interpersonal skills will also be considered.
