The School of Art, University of Manitoba invites applications for full-time tenure-track position in photography at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Applicants should have a solid understanding of contemporary photographic practices and theory. The successful candidate will be able to integrate historical, critical and theoretical understandings of contemporary photography at the undergraduate and graduate level, and to supervise graduate students in studio research. We seek an artist with a strong commitment to practice, an active research program, and an inspiring teaching style, who is willing to contribute energy, enthusiasm and vision within a highly-regarded photography area. The successful candidate will demonstrate creative excellence, collegiality, leadership and vision to the revitalization of a historic school and new building, well-equipped facilities, a gallery and collection of historical and contemporary work, and a substantial visiting speakers program.
