Job Summary
The School of Creative Arts (SoCA) is seeking a scholar in Art History or Visual Studies to fill a tenuretrack
position as Assistant Professor of Art History, preferably with specialization in Medieval and Early
Modern histories of art. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of full-time teaching
experience at the post-secondary level, including introductory survey courses; with more extensive
teaching experience strongly preferred.
A successful candidate should be committed to active scholarship, which could include publishing in
peer-reviewed academic journals, presenting conference papers, editing scholarly publications, or
organizing scholarly events. In addition, administrative experience in an academic department, as well
as service on academic committees, is an asset.

Qualifications
Required:
● have a PhD in Art History or Visual Studies
● have successful experience teaching art history/ visual studies courses
● demonstrate active scholarship in the field
● contribute to a vibrant interdisciplinary arts community in the School of Creative Arts.
● be expected to take an active role in service within the School and the University.
